"Shape It" Modular Jewel Box
This is a modular jewel box. The concept is to create different shapes and forms as to fit in any limited space. I was inspired by the scales found in a snake skin. The boxes are made out of perspex and ash wood. Inside lies a piece of small cushion made out of foam and creased drapery. The lid opens and closes by the use of an added inlay on the inside of the lid and a chain was done at one end as each side is the exact match to each lid. The reason behind this is because of the way each box was made. The sides and angles were cut and glued together with the perspex positioned in place by the use of a 3mm grove. The whole box was then cut through as for the top part to form a lid making each side perfect for its lid. The boxes were finished using liquid sanding and wax.
